Master planning is a complex module and that really extends from the real world in that there are a number of variables that a planner has to juggle. Setting up AX to emulate how you want to plan can take some time and I’d suggest a lot of testing to make you feel comfortable with the knobs and switches. Setting up the coverage groups and understanding the coverage methods is one task. This video gives a quick walk through on the period coverage.
