If you are using the AX demo VM then you know they are based on an evaluation operating system that will expire after a period. You can update that expiry 3 time before it will stop.
The command is
slmgr.vbs -rearm
It’s noted in this support article on Windows 2008 but it will also work on the Windows 2012 VMs as well.

Can we substitute our product keys for Windows Server that we use for development purposes so that the DEMO VM doesn’t disarm? We are using the DEMO VM to do some testing with our application that integrates with AX.

You could try to put in your own product keys. I haven’t tried it for a while but I think I remember there was an issue with trying to do that.
