Creating a task guide in the new Dynamics AX.

In Ax2012 we had the task recorder, actually we had the task recorder for many version but in AX2012 it was integrated to Lifecycle services. With the new Dynamics AX we have a lot of new capabilities that are worth exploring and using for your process documentation, gap anlaysis and testing. Creating a task guide is a similar experience but better integrated and you have the choice to store in a Lifecycle service project directly form the interface.

Here is a quick walkthrough the process of creating a guide and saving it back up to your process library.

  1. Hello, is this RTW? Where did the screen capture toggle go? It was in CU7 and now in RTW I can’t see it. Do you know how it’s integrated?

      • Hey Lachlan, thank you for the quick response. How do you capture screen shots during task recordings in IE or Edge? The documentation is for a Chrome extension. There is no mention of any required setup for IE.

      • Lachlan, thank you for the prompt reply. In reviewing the documentation you linked, there is no mention of enabling a screen capture feature in IE or Edge, the only mention is the Chrome extension. In earlier demons I saw of AX7 task recorder, I saw a toggle for Screen Capture and in RTW, both my own instance and in your video, I do not see it. It should be right above the option to create sub task. How does Task Recorder incorporate screen capture now?
