The item arrival journal can be used to separate out the process of physically receiving goods and registering them in the systems as a step up from doing it at a purchase order document level. This is a quick walk through how the item arrival journal works.

In a previous post I covered how the receipts lists works and the concept of registering process. So you can use the item arrival journal to fulfill the registration process. In this example I’m using an item that is now setup for full warehouse management processes WMSII or the new WMS in R3 so I’m only tracking this item by site and warehouse so it’s an example of stepping up separating the order management to the physical receipt process.
