Setting up an environment to try the PowerBI report models – Part 3

In the previous post we had a look at refreshing the data in the entity store so we can see the data in PowerBI desktop. The next step if we want to be able to see the data from PowerBI.com is to setup a data gateway between the cloud and your environment. The setup for the data gateway is available from PowerBI.com. The important pieces that we’ll run through in this video is the parameters that are set in the data gateway for the name of the machines, data source, data base in the gateway and in the report model.

It’s important to get the names matched up for the data source and machine name otherwise PowerBI.com won’t be able to fine the data when you try to access the reports online.
