There is a handy capability to understand what has been configured on a sales line. There is a parameter in the product information management parameters called configuration documentation type. This allows for what the operator configured to be saved. This is a quick walk through of how that parameter works.
If you do configurations and put them in inventory, you will look up the related Configuration dimension but it’s difficult when looking at the on-hand screen to see what is the detail behind the configuration. So if you turn on this notes feature then from on-hand drill back to the related sales order where the config was done, then you will be able to see the details via the sales line notes as in the video above.
