If you are using the constraint based product configurator then you might want to consider the overall lifecycle of the data in your system. There is an option to enable reuse of configurations which will avoid creating a new BOMs for example. This is helpful if customers want similar configurations to other customers then you can choose to let the system search for existing configurations instead of creating new ones an avoiding the proliferation of data in the system.
