Using master scheduling with item filters

If you use master scheduling with item filters you should be aware of the effect using the filter has on related items. For example if you have a finished product that you use in the filter but don’t put in the related items from the BOM for that item then master planning won’t do a full evaluation of the component parts. While it will explode the BOM if it is within the explosion time fence, if those raw materials have on hand you might get a planned order to match what is needed for the finished good but if you have on hand inventory  then you might not need to execute those new planned orders. This is especially try if you are using item filters after you have deleted the plan. Just something to be aware of in how you manage running planning.

Here is a quick overview.
