Creating an empty database for a new deployment

If you have been working with AX for a while you will know the process of creating and configuring  a new database but if you are new it might not be that obvious what you need to do to deploy AX. If you are going to implement AX you need to start with a database empty of data and build that up as your master configuration environment. Configuration being all the parameters and switches that you want to use to drive your business processes. In a deployment you want to manage this like your “source code” because it represents decisions and testing of how you want to use AX. You will use this to copy and test importing your master data into. The combination of configuration and import data will eventually represent the database you will cut over onto for your go-live.

Here is a quick walk through of creating an empty database.
